Remains of the Chief Imam of Modibbo Jailani mosque, Yola Sheikh Yahaya Mustafa Modibbo Jailani have been laid to rest on Friday amidst eulogies from sympathizers.

Sheikh Mustafa Jailani who died Thursday evening after a protracted illness at the age of eighty-five was buried in Yola leaving behind two wives, six children, and siblings.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was among the mourners who observed funeral prayer in respect of the cleric and three others in Yola town shortly after the Juma’at Prayers.

Dignitaries at the prayers were Speaker, Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas, and Secretary to the State Government SSG Malam Bashiru Ahmad.

Others were Vice Chancellor, Modibbo Adamawa University, Yola MAU, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Alhaji Abdurrahman  Bobboi, and senior government officials.

After the funeral prayer, Governor Umaru Fintiri sympathized with the Modibbo Jailani family and the Tijjaniya sect across the state over the great loss of the Islamic leader.

The Governor further said the cleric died at a time when his services are much dearly needed by the state to guide youths spiritually and morally.

He prayed to Allah to grant the soul of the deceased eternal rest and the family, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, noting that death is inevitable to every mortal.

Special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of the cleric and the three other deceased persons as well as Allah’s guidance to the administration of Governor Umaru Fintiri.
