YOWICAN National President Sues For Peace, Tolerance

The National President, Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN, Ambassador Belusokwu Anwere has stressed the need for Nigerians to embrace peace and tolerance for the development of the country.

He stated this weekend at a submit organized by the Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN, held at CAN Secretariat in Yola.

Ambassador Anwere who commended the national chairman of CAN and his Muslim Council counterpart for their relentless effort towards uniting Nigerians warned against divisive tendencies and encouraged the participants to vote based on their conscience.

In his presentation, President, Thinkers Leadership Mentorship Initiative, TLMI, Mr. Aaron Zebedee charged youths to strive to become agents of positive change in the political space.

Mr. Zebedee who spoke on the topic “Vote Protection”, tasked youths to desist from lukewarm attitude with regards to the political participation.

Zebedee who was one of the guests speakers at the summit, noted that politics is a good and noble game which is however being bastardized by some of the players.

Similarly, Doctor Stanley Giscard Norris said most Nigerians are politically uneducated which was why wrong choices were always made during electioneering activities.

Doctor Norris who was the second speaker at the submit, described next year’s general elections as critical turning point that must be approached with high sense of responsibility characterized by right choices.

In his address, chairman of the occasion, Mr. Aji Paul Wampana described the submit as timely as well as decried the nonchalant attitudes of some youths toward political participation, urging them to be proactive.

Earlier in an address, the Youth Wing Christian Association of Nigeria, YOWICAN Chairman Adamawa state Mr. Godwin Joseph said the purpose of the submit was to enlighten Christian Youths on the dynamics and intricacies surrounding the approaching twenty twenty three general elections.

Mr. Joseph who expressed dismay with the deteriorating state of the nation, stressed the need to change the narrative through voting in credible and competent leaders.

The YOWICAN Chairman urged the participants to rigorously campaign and vote for a leader with neutral mindset and good intention for the country and actively participate in politics by either vying to be party executives or political office leaders.
