USAID Trains Over Forty CSOs, Media On WASH Project in Adamawa

Adamawa state government in collaboration with the United States Development Agency, USAID had trained over forty participants on the agreed roles and responsibilities of Civil Society Organizations, CSOs and the Media on the USAID small  town WASH project.

The three-day training held at City Green Hotel which was also connected to Borno and Yobe states virtually was organized by the organization, Mercy Corp and Water Aid in collaboration with the lead group Garga Foundation.

At the opening of the training, the deputy chief of party for the USAID STWASH project Engineer Yahya Karaye presented an overview, implementation and key challenges of the programme in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.

He said the project is all about ensuring that Water, Sanitation and Hygiene infrastructure and services reach targeted beneficiaries in small towns of the selected states, local governments and communities adding that the programme stated in twenty-twenty to twenty-twenty-five.

Various presentations on WASH management and implementation strategies were made by experts during the training.

In his closing remark, the Programme Manager, Adamawa State Small Towns Water Supply Agency, Engineer Sulaiman Shuaibu stressed the importance of the training and thanked all those in attendance.

Also speaking separately WASH specialists Patient Emmanuel, USAID Small Town WASH engineer, Rogers and Sa’ad Yahya as implementers of the project in Adamawa state appreciated the contributions of participants and called for use of the knowledge acquired.

Muhammed Adamu and Madam Anna Balami speaking on behalf of participants appreciated the organizers and promised to use the knowledge acquired in their communities.
