LG Polls: PDP Campaign Train Hits Nine LGAs

Ahead of local government elections scheduled to be held on 13^th July 2024 in Adamawa State, the People’s Democratic Party PDP, in the state has commenced canvassing for votes for candidates of the party in the Northern and Central zones.

The campaign train is led by the leader of the party, who is the Governor of the state Rt. Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has received a rousing welcome from party faithful in local government areas visited.

The local governments visited so far include Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South, Maiha, Hong, Gombi, Song, and Girei.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of PDP supporters, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri urged electorates to vote endeavors for all PDP candidates for more dividends of democracy, considering feats recorded by his administration in all facets of human endeavours.

Represented by Speaker Adamawa State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, the Governor urged electorates to come out en mass and exercise their franchise, due to its importance to people at the grassroots.

Fintiri harps on theneed for the electorates to conduct themselves peacefully during and after the elections, saying the PDP-led government in the state has executed people’s-oriented projects, hence the need to vote for the party during the council polls.

He said PDP PDP-led government in the state has improved security architecture and will continue paying WAEC and NECO examination fees for final-year students in public secondary schools, urging parents to reciprocate the government gesture by sending their children to attend schools.

The Governor tasked the People’s Democratic Party, and PDP candidates in the forthcoming council polls to consolidate his administration’s efforts in developing the state by delivering good governance at the grassroots if elected.

He reiterated the government’s continued commitment to better the lives of the citizenry.

Also speaking, the State Chairman of the PDP, Barrister Tahir Shehu acknowledged the contributions of people of the local governments who visited to PDP led government in the state, urged them to maintain the spirit in the forthcoming council polls, assuring them of more developments by voting all PDP candidates during the council polls.

In their separate remarks, PDP stakeholders expressed delight with the developmental projects recorded under Ahmadu Fintiri-led administration and thanked Governor Fintiri for ensuring gender inclusiveness, promising to ensure PDP victory during the council polls.

Highpoint of the flag-off was the presentation of the PDP flag to local government Chairmanship candidates.

The campaign train will continue with its journey remaining local governments in the Central and Southern zones.
