CODE organises capacity building for ministries in Adamawa

A non-governmental organization, Connected Development CODE in collaboration with Malala Fund, Girls-Child Education project has organized a two-day capacity building training for the state Ministry of Education, f Water Resources and Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB officials on Budget preparation.
The training hold at American University of Nigeria, Yola club house.
Speaking at the training, member representing Demsa constituency at the State House of Assembly Kate Mamuno urged education stakeholders on increasing Girls-Child enrolment in secondary schools.
Mamuno who is the chairperson house committee on Women Affairs said, increasing the enrolment of Girl-Child is an investment for education which is the bedrock of any development in the state and county.
She commended Connected Development and Malala Fund for the training and called on participants to actively apply what they learn towards development of education in the state.
Kate Mamuno expressed confidence with the calibre of people in the training that a lot of success would be recorded at the end of the day.
The member advised participants to be take part in budget preparation for development of education and the state in general.
Earlier in her welcome address, Project Manager of Connected Development, Zaliha Lawan said that the objective of the training is to ensure increase of Girls-Child enrolment for quality education in the state.
According to her, it is possible to achieve quality education if there is current policies in place and support of all stakeholders.
She identified education financing as challenge for enrolment of Girl-Child and expressed need for compulsory education, to girl from nursery to senior secondary School level.
The resources person of the organization Abdulazeez Hassan tasked participants on budget analysis, monitoring and evaluation of government projects in education sector for transparency, accountability and effectiveness.
According to him, these will help to have quality education for children are the leaders of tomorrow.
