The National leader of Izalatil Bidi’a Wa’ikamatis Sunnah, Sheik Bala Lau has facilitated the wedding of twenty female orphans in Adamawa State.

Some of the brides have lost both parents at a tender age and their caregivers have no means to meet some basic requirements for the marriage ceremony.

Speaking at the event, Sheik Bala Lau said it is a task upon the organization to assist orphans in the process of getting a befitting marriage ceremony as their mothers or guardians cannot afford some of the basic needs stressing that the first set of such gesture was held in Abuja and would be replicated across the country.

He stated that it is part of the organization’s contribution towards ensuring peaceful coexistence in society by assisting the needy, and reminded Muslims that it is a task upon them to assist the less privileged in society.

Sheik Bala Lau then appealed to those in authority and wealthy individuals to contribute towards the sustenance of the programme to free the society from related social problems being experienced in some parts of the country.

Also speaking, the state chairman, Izalatil Bidi’a Wa’ikamatis Sunnah, Alhaji Sahabo Magaji noted that the ceremony was the first of its kind in the state and called on wealthy individuals to emulate the gesture for the sustenance of the programme.

In his speech, the State committee chairman on Orphans of the organization, Alhaji Ibrahim Usman said the beneficiaries were selected from the database of the committee based on the needs of each bride.

In his remark, the State Chairman of the Muslim Council of Nigeria Alhaji Gambo Jika expressed delight over the intervention by the organization in sponsoring the ceremony, considering the financial predicament of the beneficiaries, and commended the National leader of the group, Sheik Bala Lau for initiating the package.

He admonished the couples to adhere to the tenets of Islamic marriage under Islam and build a prosperous home.

Alhaji Gambo Jika attributed some of the vices in society to a lack of adherence to marriage principles by couples.

Some of the items provided to the brides include a set of furniture and bedding.
