Bill for a law to establish Adamawa State transport board passes second reading

Adamawa State House of Assembly has read for the second time a bill for a law to provide for the establishment of Adamawa State transport board to manage and offer urban, Interstate Township and international transport services.

The House  also read for the second time a law to provide for road traffic administration and make provisions for road traffic and vehicle inspection unit in Adamawa.

The second reading of the two bills followed their presentation on the floor of the House by the majority leader Alhaji Hammantukur Yettisuri of Jada Mbulo Constituency during Tuesday`s sitting.

After considering the importance of the bills speaker Aminu Iya Abbas who presided over the plenary put the motion to that effect into voice vote which got the clearance of the lawmakers present.

He therefore committed the bills to the House Committees on Transportation and Rural Infrastructure and Community Development to scrutinize them and report back to the House within two weeks.

Also during Tuesday`s plenary session, the House received the report of its standing Committees on Judiciary and Entrepreneurship Development on a bill for a law to make provision for limitation of Action presented by Deputy Speaker Mr. Pwamakaino Mackondo of Numan Constituency.

After receiving the report, the Speaker Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas directed the Chairman House Committee on rules, business, ethics and privilege to schedule the report for consideration and adoption during the next Legislative session.
