Adamawa Assembly Confirms Bashir Yusuf as Auditor General, Local Government

Adamawa State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Bashir Ijamulu Yusuf as the Auditor General for Local Government.

The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of a letter forwarded to the House of Assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri requesting confirmation of the nominee.

Considering the letter, the Majority Leader of the Assembly, Mr. Japhet Kefas, who represents Gombi constituency, said that the nominee has requisite qualification to hold the office.

He urged his colleagues to confirm the nominee as requested by Governor Fintiri, to assume office as provided by law.

In their contributions, the Deputy Speaker, Mr. Pwamwakeno Mackondo of Numan and Abdullahi Umar Yapak of Verre, said that the nominee has the required qualities head the office.

Thereafter, the majority leader of the house Mr. Japhet Kefas, moved for the confirmation of the nominee and was seconded by Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Yapak.

The Speaker, Aminu Iya Abbas, who presided over the sitting, directed the clerk of the Assembly to communicate the Assembly’s resolution to Governor Fintiri for further action.

Reacting on the resolution, Bashir Ijamulu Yusuf appreciated Governor Fintiri for finding him worthy of the appointment.

He also appreciated the Speaker and Members of the Assembly for confirming him.
