Adamawa state Government to sanction School that Violates COVID-19 Protocols

Adamawa state Government set to reopen schools on twelve October twenty-twenty.

The Commissioner of Education and Human Capital Development Mrs Wulbina Jackson made this known while declaring open a meeting of stakeholders in the education sector held at Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board conference Hall Tuesday.

The Commissioner explained that the aim of the stakeholders meeting is to draw out modalities on the reopening.

Mrs Jackson charged the stakeholders to redouble their efforts and ensure that pupils and students are well taken care of while in school.

She appealed to school authorities to monitor students and ensure compliance to NCDC directives espcially washing of hands with soap under running water, use of hand sanitizers and Wearing of face masks.

Mrs Jackson also said the ministry will go round school to supervise compliance to COVID-nineteen protocols, warning that schools that violate the safety protocols would be sanctioned.

In her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Hajiya Aisha Abubakar said the meeting is to guarantee safety of students in schools after re-opening to curb spread of coronavirus.

There were Goodwill messages from the chairman of Adamawa state Universal Basic Education Board, Doctor Salihi Ateequ, Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT Comrade Rodney Nathan, as well as chairman of Nigeria Association of Private Schools Adamawa among others.

A presentation was made by Doctor Fahad Muhammad from Nigeria Center for Disease Control, Doctor Pembi Emmanuel from the Ministry of Health and Director Basic Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development
