The Arch Bishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria LCCN, Most Reverend Musa Panti Filibus has re-emphasized the need for politicians not to overheat the policy polity by using abusive words on opposition candidates, pointing out it is being beneficial to go into election with respect for others.

He made the plea at the ninety eight election edition of the annual National Convention of the church which commenced Wednesday at the convention ground Demsa.

He welcomed members and expressed fears of poor attendance due to redesign of the naira and fuel scarcity among others.

He called on President Muhammadu Buhari to hasten effort to make available the new currencies to reduce the current hardship forced by the people, adding that if nothing is done, the people might be pushed beyond what they can bear.

Most Reverend Filibus who is also the President of the Lutheran World Federation, decried insecurity situation in the country which resulted in the displacement as well as lost of lives and property and urged members to take solace in the theme for the year, “Christ our Hope” as taken from the book of first Peter chapter one verse three.
