Adamawa State House of Assembly has passed the over one hundred and forty billion naira proposed revised budget for the projects and services of the state government in the year twenty-twenty.
The passage of the proposed revised budget estimate followed the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Finance, Budget and Appropriation Mrs Kate Raymond Mamuno of Demsa constituency during Monday’s resumed plenary.
After considering and adopting the document as amended during a committee of a whole house, Deputy Majority Leader of the House and member representing Gombi, Mr Japhet presented the revised appropriation bill to be read for the third time after which it was unanimously endorsed by the lawmakers.
Thereafter, Speaker of the House Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas who presided over the plenary session put the motion for passage of the bill into voice vote in which it was endorsed by the members.
He then directed the clerk of the House to prepare a clean copy of the bill and forward it executive arm for the for Governor’s assent.
It could be recalled that the Adamawa House of Assembly had in December last year approved over one hundred and eighty three billion naira for recurrent and capital expenditure of the state government for the year twenty-twenty, but owing to economic crunch as a result of outbreak of Covid-nineteen, the state government decided to review the budget downward to be in line with current realities.
