The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Budget Mr Japhet Gajere Ajiya has saluted Civil Society Organizations in Adamawa for supporting Government in the implementation the Sustainable Development Goals SDGS in the state.

He was speaking at an event organized by Non-Governmental organisation, African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development in collaboration with MarcArthur Foundation held at Murtala Nyako Training Centre Yola.

Mr Ajiya explained that Adamawa state government is ready to partner with relevant non-governmental organizations for the benefit of Adamawa citizens.

Also, speaking, the Programme Coordinator, African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development Mr Uchenna Arisukwu described citizen engagement as a vital tool for development.

The coordinator explained that the workshop was organized to educate Adamawa people on the need to embrace open government partnership which was introduced in the state in the year two thousand and seventeen.

Mr Arisukwu stated that open government partnership enables the state to galvanize support in the implementation of programmes and projects.

He added that a document on Adamawa state action plan is ready for implementation in the areas of fiscal transparency, social inclusion, citizen engagement, and budget among others.

Some of the participants interviewed, Alhaji Aminu Mallum and Madam Hannyi Tanyishi described the workshop as educative and pledged to use the knowledge acquired in the activities of their various organizations.
