Adamawa state Head of civil service Doctor Edger Amos Sunday has called on the National Orientation Agency, NOA, to sensitize the public on the need to shun Corruption in their daily activities.
He made the call when he received officials of the agency on an advocacy visit in his office in Yola.
Doctor Amos who described Corruption as a serious threat to peace and development urged the agency to intensify efforts at enlightening people on the importance of living a corruption free life for a better society.
The Head of Service who saluted NOA for its efforts at enlightening people on effects and preventive measures against spread of Corona virus said disease has affected virtually all aspects of life.
He stressed the need for people to adhere to preventive guidelines of the virus so as to rid the country of the disease.
Doctor Edger Amos also appealed to the agency to enlighten the public on the need to stop relying on government for employment, but acquire skills that will make them self reliant.
Speaking earlier, the Acting Director of the National Orientation Agency Adamawa state, Alhaji Bashir Muhammad Gabdo said the agency is poised at enlightening the general public on the dangers of Corona virus, corruption and other vices in the state.
While enumerating the effects of rape and kidnapping, Alhaji Gabdo solicited for collective effort by stakeholders in checking vices which have been on the increase across the country.
He called on parents to closely monitor their children and government to curtail the activities of kidnappers and Shilla Boys in the interest of safety of lives and properties of the citizenry.
In a vote of thanks, the Director of Administration of the agency, Alhaji Tijjani Ubandoma acknowledged the mutual understanding between the agency and the state government which he said has contributed to the successes of the agency in Adamawa.
