Adamawa Speaker Honoured With Title of Madawakin Shelleng

The Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly  Aminu Iya Abbas has been conferred with a traditional tilte of Madawakin Shelleng Emirate by the Amnah of Shelleng Dr Abdullahi Isa Dasong the second.

Presenting the conferment letter to the Speaker at their Dougire family residence in Yola, the Galadiman Shelleng Alhaji Yawale Boltungo on behalf of Amnah Shelleng said the title conferred on the speaker is a result of passion for the development of the Emirate and the state as a whole.

The royal father explained that the leadership qualities of the speaker brought fame to the state especially the Seventh Assembly.

He said the speaker has become leader whom many people across the board are beckoning to be together with and the title of Madawakin Shelleng is a show of recognition of his style of leadership.

The Madawakin Shelleng Iya Abbas, responding through the Adviser on Chieftaincy Affairs to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, Alhaji Usman Marafa thanked the Amna Shelleng for the title and pledged to contribute towards the development of the Emirate.

Meanwhile the Adamawa State House of Assembly has congratulated the Speaker on his conferment as new Madawakin Shelleng.

The House in a congratulatory message through the Chairman House Committee on Information and member representing Gombi Constituency Mr. Japhet Kefas described the chieftaincy title as a worthy one and well-deserved one.

The statement said the recognition of the Speaker by Shelleng Emirate is testimony of his overall contributions to the growth and development of the state.

The House appreciated the traditional ruler for deeming it worthy to confer the title of Madawakin Shelleng on the Speaker, nothing that it would further spur him to do more for the House and for the state.
