Over 200,000 households to benefits from consumable relief materials in Adamawa State

Adamawa State Government has flagged off distribution of consumable relief materials worth millions of naira donated by Aliko Dangote under the Private Sector Coalition against Covid-nineteen CACOVID, to across the twenty one local government areas in the state.

In his address while flagging off the distribution at Kwanan Waya Namtari in Yola South local government area, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri said the distribution has come at the right time as the citizens are experiencing hardship as a result of Covid-nineteen pandemic.

He noted that the relief items will go a long way in augmenting government’s efforts towards cushioning the effects of the pandemic on the citizens and assured that the materials will be judiciously distributed to the actual beneficiaries.

The Governor called on the beneficiaries to use the items donated judiciously and asked for more assistance to Adamawa state in terms of provision of both humanitarian and developmental support for other people to benefit.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Secretary, Adamawa State Emergency Management Agency ADSEMA, Doctor Muhammad Suleiman Amin said the distribution was part of the assistance by the coalition of private sector against COVID-nineteen in the country.

Speaking in an interview, Alhaji Aliko Dangote represented by Alhaji Jamilu Muhammad enumerated the items donated to include cartons of noodles, sugar, Macaroni, salt, rice among others, adding that one thousand households are expected to benefit from each political ward in the state.
