PDP Presidential Candidate Atiku donates food items to flood victims in Adamawa

The Former Vice President and Waziri Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has donated food items worth fifty Million naira to flood victims in twelve affected local government areas of Adamawa State.

The items which include one thousand, one hundred bags of fifty Kilograme rice, six hundred cartons of Indomie noodles, two hundred and forty cartons of Maggi Cubes and three hundred and sixty Cans of Vegetable Oil were delivered on Sunday in Yola.

Local government to benefit are Madagali, Numan, Demsa, Lamurde, Shelleng, Fufore, Yola South, Yola North, Song, Girei, Mubi North and Guyuk.

Alhaji Abubakar who is the Presidential Candidate of People’s Democratic Party PDP in twenty twenty three elections has rendered similar gesture recently to victims of flood in Kano, Jigawa and Bayelsa States among others.

Presenting the foodstuffs on behalf of his father, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar who doubles as the State Commissioner of Works and Energy says the donation was to cushion the hardships of the victims.

Alhaji Adamu called on the distribution committee to be sincere by ensuring justice and fairness throughout the disbursement process so that the item reaches the target beneficiaries.

Giving the breakdown of the items, the State Commissioner of Agriculture, Alhaji Umar Iya Daware said the food items will go along way to assist the victims across the twelve local government areas in the state.

In her vote of thanks on behalf of the benefiting local government areas, Commissioner of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Mrs Justina Obadiah Nkom thanked the former Vice President for the gesture.

She assured that her Colleagues from other affected local government areas who make up the distribution committee will ensure judicious distribution of the food items to the flood victims.
