Islamic Cleric Harps On Islamic, Western Education

The Chief Imam of Shagari phase two Jumma’at Mosque Yola town, Malam Muhammad Auwal Usman Asslafi has admonished Muslims to redouble their efforts to acquire Islamic and Western education.

The Imam gave the advice Sunday during an end-of-session report meeting of the Shagari Muslim community held at the mosque.

Malam Usman Asslafi explained that is important for every Muslim to acquire informal education to promote Islam.

The cleric commended the Shagari Muslim youths for their efforts in uplifting Islam in the community.

The chief Imam called on participants of the meeting to step down knowledge acquired to others for the benefit of the entire Muslim Ummah.

In his remark, the Village Head of Bole, Alhaji Abdulmumini who was represented by Abdallah Ishak called on the Muslim community of Shagari to give more support to Islamic teachers to enable them to discharge their duties effectively.

Speaking, Secretary FOMWAN Adamawa state, Hapsat Abdulrahman Bello expressed appreciation to the Shagari Muslim Community for organizing Islamic teachings and lectures, urging them to maintain the tempo.

She said it is the responsibility of every Muslim to give sound knowledge to their children, hence the need for parents to redouble their efforts in ensuring the proper upbringing of their wards.

In an interview with ABC Yola reporter one of the organizers, Malam Anas Abubakar Umar said in the last session, the students were taught using various books which include the Qur’an, Hadith and h, and Fiqqu among others.

He expressed satisfaction with the performance of the students and urged them to maintain their posture.

Malam Abubakar Umar called on the state government to assist in realizing last year’s Arabic results of school for Arabic and Islamic Studies Yola.
