Surveyor General Office Awards Deserving Staff

Twenty-six staff of the office of Surveyor General in the state have been recognized for meritorious service in line with state government effort towards better service delivery.

Speaking during the maiden edition of Productivity Day and presentation of award held at Admiral Murtala Nyako Center State Secretariat Yola, Head of Service Pharmacist Shehu Isa Ardo commended the department for recognizing hardworking civil servants.

He said government will revive the annual productivity award to civil servants in the state and urged other government ministries, department and agencies to replicate same.

Pharmacist Ardo urged those who were recognized to put in more efforts towards revitalizing sectors by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri led Administration.

In a remark, Commissioner for Land and Survey, Chief Joab Sahma, described Office of Surveyor General as independent, pointing out that the role of staff of the department has assisted in land administration while revenue generation has improved.

He explained that the survey department has complimented the effort of Governor Fintiri towards improving the lives of the populace and urged them to sustain the tempo.

In a welcome address, Surveyor General of the state, Simon Pwavidon attributed the success recorded by the department to unrelenting efforts and dedication of the staff.

He said the survey department is digitalized and renders service to all ministries, departments and agencies of government with improved imagery, security and provision of relevant information.

The Surveyor General explained that the event was package to recognize and appreciated deserving staff.

Responding, one of the awardees, Stephen Damuya, appreciated the Surveyor General and other management staff for encouraging them to do more.

Seven staff got awards, nineteen received certificate of recognition while seven daily rated staff were also recognized for their efforts in the discharge of their duties.
