The Initiatives for Muslim Women of Nigeria IMWON has distributed with fifty orphans during Eid-El Kabir to enable them feel a sense of belonging.

Speaking to Journalists after distributing the food packages to the orphans, the State Amirah Hajiya Asma’u Aliyu said the get together was organized to drive away loneliness and hardship being encountered by widows and orphans following the death of their bread winners.

She stated that a sizable number of orphans were invited to the occasion due to COVID-nineteen, and expressed satisfaction with the response by the orphans.

The Amirah called on widows to ensure the orphans in their custody obtain both Islamic and western education, adding that education is a key to success in life as it will make them to be responsible citizens in the society.

While calling on wealthy individuals to assist orphans and other less privileged in the society, Hajiya Asma’u advised orphans to learn skills so as to be self reliant.

Also in her remark, the State Secretary of the organization, Hajiya Hadiza Dauda said the organization takes care of the orphans who are mostly young because they cannot fend for themselves.

She noted that the orphans were excited for interacting with their friends and colleagues during the event.
