Grantees of British Council, EU-ACT in Adamawa State Commended

Non-governmental bodies, Grantees of the British Council, and European Union-Agents for Citizens-driven Transformation, ACT in Adamawa state have been saluted for their practical impact in the implementation of grants in critical areas in the state.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Adviser of the program, Mr. Iliya Ambi who made the commendation in Yola during a grant reflection session with the grantees in the state, declared that the essence of the meeting is to reflect on the performance and progress of the beneficiaries of the grant.

He explained that the meeting had to enable the grantees to demonstrate their level of transparency and credibility as actors in the civil space in Nigeria as well as collate lessons learned over time, and challenges encountered in the course of implementing the grants and identify best practices for adoption.

Mr. Ambi pledged that funders will continue to support the participating eighteen Civil Society Organizations in Adamawa state to enable them to record high-level outcome results that will be strategic and beneficial.

The Officer stated that the funders will develop impact stories with some of the result indicators that will increase the visibility of the kind of support provided by the funders to the participating organizations.

The state coordinator of funding bodies, Hajiya Farida Dunama urged the grantees to commit themselves more to the implementation of the projects being executed.

Presentation of the nine participating organizations’ presentations on the implementations of the grants in crucial areas by their various organizations.

Among the areas are covered Sexual Gender Based Violence, Peace Building, and Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs among others.

Some officials of the participating organizations that were interviewed expressed delight with the interaction which they said updated their knowledge and pledged to amend some of their activities for the sustainability of the projects.
