Council Chairman Commends Gov Fintiri For Restoring Peace

The chairman of Yola South Local Government Council, Alhaji Salihu Malkohi has commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the well-articulated action that facilitated a return to normalcy and arrest of looters as well as recovery of looted items during the recent disturbance in Yola.

The chairman made the commendation during the inauguration of two committees constituted by the council for recovery and assessing the extent of damage done in two departments of the local government by hoodlums in Yola Wednesday.

Alhaji Malkohi urged the committee members to be guided by the template given by the Governor in his speech and challenged them members to do a thorough job.

The chairman called on residents to cooperate with the authorities at all times for lasting peace and stability in the area.

Alhaji Malkohi advised all those who took away various items during the incident to voluntarily surrender such to the nearest police station or to their ward heads immediately.

He thanked people of Yola South for their support and cooperation during the trying period and enjoined them to be law abiding.
