ADHA confirms appointment of Mr Sini Zira Kwabe as Auditor General for Local Governments

Adamawa State House of Assembly during its Wednesday resumed session approved and confirms the appointment of Mr Sini Zira Kwabe as the substantive Auditor General for Local Governments in the state.

The House confirmation followed the presentation of the joint House Committees on Public Accounts and Public Service, Public Petitions and Electoral Matters on the floor of the House on the request letter earlier forwarded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Presenting the report on behalf of the joint committees, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House and Chairman, House Committee on Public Service, Mr Adwawa Dongolok said the nominee has met the set requirements and therefore recommended for his confirmation.

After considering the track record of Mr. Sini Zira Kwabe, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Mr Pwamakaino Mackwando who presided over the plenary session put the motion for his confirmation into voice vote in which the lawmakers present gave their consent.

He therefore directed the clerk of the House to communicate the resolution to the executive arm for further action.

Meanwhile, the House of Assembly has also announced the composition of ad-hoc Committees to assess the performance of the twenty one local government Chairmen in the state.

The ad-hoc Committees has Mr. Japhet Kefas of Gombi as chairman of the assessment team to Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Guyuk and Shelleng Local Government Areas while Alhaji Hamidu Sajoh Lekki of Yola North is to head the team to visit Mayo Belwa, Jada, Ganye and Toungo Local Governments.

Others are Mrs Kate Raymond Mamuno of Demsa to head the assessment team to Girei, Song Gombi and Hong Local Governments as Alhaji Yahya Isa of Maiha is leads others to Yola North,Yola South and Fufore Local Governments.

The Deputy Speaker also announced that the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Mr. Umar Nashon Gubi of Nasarawo-Binyeri is to head the team that would visit Mubi North, Mubi South,Michika, Madagali and Maiha.

He charged the committees to discharge their duties diligently.
