A Non-Governmental Organization Connected Development in conjunction with Malala Fund and “Follow the Money” has organized a Two Day workshop on capacity building on School Management Team SMTs, Budget tracking advocacy and monitoring.

The event took place at the American University of Nigeria AUN club.

The project manager of Connected Development, Kingsly Agui explained to the participants of  the importance of Follow The Money program and how to key in to it.

He said that people have the right to know how government spend money earmarked in the budget of their state as well projects being executed,

The project manager also coached the participants how to write official letter a the ministry or an agency in line with section two sub section four  of the freedom of information act twenty eleven.

During the workshop a member of Connected Development Miss Zaliha Lawal spoke on the importance of girl child education, and called on parents to enroll their female children in  school.

Miss Zaliha cautioned parents against engaging the  girl child in hawking and appealed to government to provide free education to girl up to secondary School level.

The participants were drawn from fufore and Yola south local government area.

In an interview some of the participants appreciated Connected Development for organizing the workshop and promise to utilize the knowledge they had acquired
