Traders In Mubi Gets New Leadership

The new Chairman of Traders Association, Sabon Kasuwa Mubi branch, Alhaji Muhammadu Ahmadu Mbilla has decried nonexistence of basic facilities in the market despite the revenue being collected in the market.
Ahmadu Mbilla who stated this in an interview after being declared winner in a keenly contested election held recently in Mubi, explained that the market lacked drainage systems and security lights.
The chairman who pledged to run an open door policy and treat members equally without fear or favour called on his co-contestants to join hands with the new leadership for the progress of the market and development of the Association.
He expressed optimism that the market will become an international market during his tenure, calling on government to grant loan with less interest to traders to boost their businesses and improve revenue collection in the market.
Alhaji Mbilla who revealed that this is the first time members were given free hand to elect their leaders since the formation of the association over twenty years, urged members to abide by the advice of the Emir of Mubi Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu who appealed to traders to respect and help people who came to transact genuine business in the market.
In their separate remarks, Ahmadu Sa’adu, chairman steering committee of the election, Woman leader, Mrs Murna expressed delight with the conduct of the election, saying they have confidence in the ability of the new chairman to deliver.
They maintained that their concern is to see traders’ conduct their businesses under peaceful atmosphere devoid of any security threat so that the economy of the state will wax stronger to cover loses incurred as a result of COVID-nineteen pandemic.
Those elected to pilot the affairs of the union are Muhammadu Ahmadu Mbilla-Chairman, Luka Ngirdawa Vice Chairman, Secretary-Ishaku Dauda, Assistant Secretary- Isa Mohammed, Treasurer-Yusuf Ahmad Talba, Assistant Treasurer-Yusuf Hamman, Legal Adviser- Rabi’u Buba, Financial Secretary-Jibrilla Saidu, while the post of Assistant Financial Secretary went to Yahaya Shuaibu.
Others are Yakubu Ngubula-Organizing Secretary, Abdulaziz Bello-Assistant Organizing Secretary, Hassan Iya-Public Relations Officer one, Hussaini Sa’adu Public Relations Officer two, Hussaini Jibril-Auditor one, Abdullahi Ali-Auditor two, Murna James- woman leader, Zuwaira Shuaibu -Assistant woman leader , and Alkalin Kasuwa- Hassan Mua’zu
