March eight is set aside to globally celebrate Women, considering the fact that a woman is a key player in the society and decision making for good governance.

Mrs Kate Raymond Mamunu the Member representing Demsa Constituency in the state house of Assembly stated in that   as this Year’s International Women’s Day with the theme Break the Bias is unique.

Mrs Mamunu noted that said Women in some sector are under-represented despite coming a long way and contributing their quota in the progress made by humanity hence the theme the break the Bias.

She added women all over the world are being celebrated whether they are being carried along or not, saying that every woman has to celebrate herself before any other celebrates her.

She commends Adamawa state government and the legislative, saying that they have been very supportive when it comes to Gender related issue.

The lawmaker saluted Governor Ahmadu Umaru fintiri for always having women at heart, and speedily ascending to laws that relate to the well-being of women.

Mrs Mamunu said the Speaker of the state assembly has been supportive on bills relating to Women and Gender balance.

She called on Women to not to be afraid  to participate actively  in politics and decision making for good governance in the state, observing that  Women should not only be in the  vanguard in politics but  get involved in the mainstream of government.

The Lawmaker counselled women to unite since an injury to one is an injury to all.

She said the culture of silence must be broken and Women should speak for a violence free society.
