The twenty twenty two Veterans affairs Five Day Seminar organized by the Nigeria Army Department of Administration has ended in Yola with a call on the Veterans to Uphold nationalism through Patriotic disposition and eschewing corruption as well as ethno- religious sentiments.

This was contained in a communique issued at the end of the seminar Friday at Muna Hotel in YOLA.

The aim of the workshop is to consolidate on the gains of the previous sessions of seminar while addressing the gaps in the engagement of Nigeria Army Veterans in information gathering and sharing for enhanced National Security in the country.

The communiqué also noted that the theme of the workshop ” Harnessing the skills of Nigeria Army Veterans for National Security”  need to be sustained as it rekindled zeal in the Veteran’s and sense of belonging.

It also observed that the current insecurity situation in Nigeria is surmountable as veterans were expected to play key roles in their various localities.

The Communiqué called on Veterans to see Nigeria as highest legacy, efforts, sacrifices and support it’s sustenance through positive contributions.

In a remark, the Chief of Army Staff Liutenant General Faruk Yahya represented by the Director Veterans Affairs, Nigeria Army Department of Administration, Major General M.T Durawai enjoined the Participants of the Seminar to cooperate with local security authorities in their Communities and play active role in achieving desired Peace and security in the country.

The Special Guest of Honor at the event, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri represented by the Chief of Staff Government House Yola Professor Maxwell Gidado lauded the Nigeria Army for their efforts at ensuring peace and security and assured them of Government support at all times.

He implored the Participants to use the knowledge acquired during the seminar for peace and tranquility in the country.
