Over 10,000 applicants to sit for teachers recruitment examination

Ten thousand two hundred and eigty two applicants are expected to sit for the subject specific examination to be conducted by the Adamawa State ministry of Education and human capital development for recruitment of teachers on Saturday.

The Deputy permanent secretary in the ministry of Education and human capital development,Mr Sunday Stephen announced this in an interview with ABC yola reporter.

Mr Sunday Stephen explained that the subject specific examination is for all applicants that have passed the aptitude test earlier conducted and have obtained sixty percent cut off point only.

He explained that they will write the examination based on the subject they read in University or other tertiary institution pointing out that the successful candidates are expected to converge to their zonal headquarters of their local governments.

Mr Stephen added that already a circular has been sent to initiating principals,zonal inspectors of education and divisional inspectors on education as well as members of the subcommittee on the examination in that regard.

He pointed out that the applicants are to bring along the computer printout which they subscribed as well as writing materials stressing that cell phones would not be allowed into the examination halls.

Mr Stephen observed that going by the general result of the aptitude test, Adamawa State has quality reserve of manpower and expressed the hope there will be more programme to employ more applicants.

He noted that Government is targeting two thousand teachers to be employed observing that more than the number could scale through that subject based examination.

Mr Stephen then urged those who could not pass the earlier examination to be patient as Government could undertake another recruitment exercise.
