Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has assured workers of the state government who received July salary without minimum wage that they will get their complete salary in the month of August along with the arrears of the July shortfall.
The Governor who stated this when he hosted the state leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC in the Government House, Yola described the development as unfortunate and promise to address the problem so that workers will no longer experience it.
Governor Umaru Fintiri who explained that he was not aware of the shortfall until he saw the bulletin issued by the organized labour in the state, expressed concern on the approach taken by the union without hearing from him.
He added that upon seeing the bulletin, he immediately called the Accountant General to enquire why the shortfall occurred without his knowledge assuring that workers will continue to enjoy their full salary.
The Governor said his administration will continue to remain labour friendly and will never joke with the issue of salary of civil servants in the state.
He called on the leadership of the labour union in the state to have confidence in his administration and strengthen the relationship between government and the unions as the two are partners in progress.

He appealed to workers in the state to exercise patience on the issue as his administration has been paying the minimum wage since last year and therefore will not relent in that regard.
The state Leadership of the NLC who were in the Government House, Yola at the instance of Governor Umaru Fintiri were led by the State Chairman Comrade Emmanuel Fashe.
