Community leaders and Almajiri teachers of Wuro-Hausa in Yola South local government area have pledged to support Reformation of Tsangaya System of Education in the area.

They made the pledge during meeting on comprehensive and sustainable Tsangaya education reformation for peaceful change held at the residence of Alhaji Umaru Mijiyawa the Ward head of the area.

The meeting organized by Plan International in collaboration with Forum For African Women Educationalist FAWE and Society For Women And Girls Empowerment SWOG attracted over forty-five stakeholders from the community including Almajiris and their Malams.

In their separate remarks, Mr Lawrence Kwada from Society For Women And Girls Empowerment SWOG and Ibrahim Bello as well Aisha Yahya from FAWE said the project aimed at reforming  Tsanagaya system of Education for peaceful coexistence.

They solicited for support from the Malams for the success of the project.

On their part, the Malams while pledging their support to the reformation, however expressed displeasure over the attitude of some organizations in handling their plight.
