Lamido Adamawa stresses need for peaceful coexistence

Lamido Adamawa Doctor Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa has stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among people for purposeful development to be achieved.
He stated this at an Unveiling Ceremony of Royalty Women for Peace and Development initiative ROWPEDI held at Wetland Parks and Garden Yola.
Represented by the Galadima Adamawa Alhaji Mustafa Aminu, the Royal father commended the foresight of the initiators of ROWPEDI which according to him will help in fostering peace and unity among people of Adamawa and the country at large.
The Monarch assured them of his support and cooperation at all times.
In her remark, the President of Royalty Women for Peace and Development initiative ROWPEDI Hajiya Maisaratu Bello said the organisation is the brainchild of Sarauniya Adamawa and wife of Lamido Adamawa to better the lives of people especially Women.
She said ROWPEDI is an organisation that made up of prominent women in the state and country who come together to contribute their Quarter to the development of their communities.
The President said the organisation is worried with some problems facing women both at home and the state at large and committed to address them for a better society.
Hajiya Maisaratu Bello said the organisation is poised to fight social vices, gender base violence, advocate for immunization as well as fight against drug abuse among Youths.
While assuring their support to traditional institutions to discourage gender base violence, the president solicited support of government to enable the organisation to realize its ambition.
Representative of chairman of the occasion, District Head of Nyibago, Alhaji Abubakar Jika congratulated the members of the organization and called on them to remain resolute in the task ahead of them.
The Guest Speaker at the occasion and state Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers Adamawa state chapter, Comrade Roadney Nathan said the organization has come at a time when it’s needed and stressed the need to stop intimidating women.
In a separate goodwill messages, the Managing Director Gotel Communication, Alhaji Muhammad Elyakub and Vice president American University of Nigeria, Professor Abba Tahir acknowledged the Role of Royalty and advocated for inclusion of traditional institutions in Government policies for peace and tranquility in the country.
In a passionate remark, the Founder Royalty Women for Peace and Development initiative ROWPEDI Hajiya Aisha Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa called on members to unite and assured government and traditional institutions of their support at all times.
The event was attended by various royal women, politicians among others.
Awards were also presented to some noble women.
