NGO organises workshop on fight against gender base violence in Adamawa

A Non Governmental Organisation NGO, known as Connected Development CODE, has organized a two day workshop on the fight against Gender Based Violence in Adamawa state.

The program, which held at KDzD suites, Jimeta on Monday and Tuesday this week was organized in partnership with United Nation Spotlight Initiative.

Hameedat Muhammad, the state Lead of UN Spotlight Initiative, said the program was aimed at curbing Gender Based Violence GBV in Adamawa and by extension, Nigeria.

She called on other stakeholders to work in synergy with the NGO to achieve the set objectives, as this is the first time such program was organized Adamawa.

The event, which was attended by twenty five youths from different segments of the society, was also attended by the Member, representing Demsa Constituency, in the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Kate Raymond Mamuno.

She explained that she already sponsored a bill that had passed second reading at the state Assembly, with regards to Gender-based Violence.

Contributing, Miss Charity Alaja, expressed hope that more stakeholders will also join and support the effort to end Gender Based Violence.
