Adamawa State Government To Expend N492m For Installation Of Solar Powered Streetlights In Jimeta, Mubi

The Adamawa State Executive Council at its seventh twenty twenty two meeting has approved the supply and installation of solar powered streetlights in the state at the cost of over four hundred and ninety two million naira.

The meeting presided over by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri decided that the streetlights be deployed at Atiku Abubakar Way in Jimeta and Mubi township road to be completed in the next three months.

The Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Doctor Umar Garba Pella announced this while briefing newsmen shortly after the meeting in the Council chambers, government house, Yola Wednesday.

Doctor Garba Pella said the council during the meeting also approved variation of over three hundred and twenty one million naira for the four point eight kilometers Jada township road project.

The Commissioner said the approval followed additional one kilometer on the Jada-Mbulo road, raising the total contract sum to one point five billion naira against the initial amount of one point two billion naira.

He further said the Executive council has approved the procurement of two Toyota Prado of twenty twenty one and twenty twenty two models for the State Liaison office in Abuja at over one hundred and thirty two million naira.

According to Doctor Garba Pella, the council after extensive deliberation has approved domestication of seven recent federal government circulars into state service for implementation as part of the quests for civil service reform.

He mentioned the circulars to include the use of only academic qualification for entry into civil service, internship programme in civil and public service, and inclusion of Banking and Finance degree in the scheme service.

Doctor Garba Pella further said others are the responsibility for payment of benefits of primary school teachers and other Local Government workers and creation of psychology officer cadre in the public service to also be recognized.

He said the rests are on version of executive superintendent technical cadre to professional officer cadre in the public service, resignation of health record practitioners as cadre and restoration of intermediate cadre in the scheme of things.
