A Yola based Islamic Scholar, Alhaji Shehu Yahya Malam has advised Muslims to participate in funeral prayer and escort the corpse to the burial ground in view of the abundant reward in doing so.

The Scholar gave the advice at Modibbo Zailani Mosque Yola in an entreaty shortly after the burial of two elders, Malam Usman Biri Abba of Mbamba village in Yola and Alhaji Aminu Baba Attah.

Quoting a Hadith Alhaji Shehu said any Muslim who participate in a funeral prayer and burial of a deceased Muslim would be given reward as huge as Mount Uhud in Saudi Arabia.

He counseled members of bereaved families to always exercise patience whenever they lose their loved ones as death is inevitable and every soul must taste death.

The cleric also said a Muslim is rewarded by Allah whenever he exercises patience over any misfortune that befell him.
