MCN, CRPAI organizes Dissemination Event In Mubi

The Managing Conflict in Nigeria (MCN) of the British Council and a non-governmental organization Community Reach Out and Poverty Alleviation Initiative, Yola organized a dissemination event in Mubi north local government area.

The event aims to showcase the remarkable achievements and impact made during the quarter by the Community Accountability Forum CAF sessions across the CAF sites.

Over seventy participants cut across critical stakeholders including council chairmen of Mubi North, Maiha, and Girei local governments, security personnel, and People Living With Disabilities.

The major achievement highlighted by the project officer, during the event was the distribution of printed copies of the Community Accountability Forums intervention, and the commitment by local councils and stakeholders to sustain the CAF activities and replicate them especially in adjoining communities.

The Chairman Mubi North who spoke on behalf of the Local Government Council and was represented by the council secretary corroborated the impact of CAF in their local governments.

He revealed that, as the Special Assistant to the Council Chairman on Activities of donor interventions, had continually monitored the implementation of CAF in the community, and the Council had provided the logistics support and donation of a patrol vehicle to the security outfit in the area.

In a remark, the district head of Nasarawo from the Mubi South local government advocated for the support of Police and VPs in his domain.

Also contributing, the chairman Community Accountability Forum steering committee Mayo-Belwa community enumerated some of the achievements of the CAF including donation of a patrol vehicle and equipping the office for vigilantes by their representative and council chairman.

He, therefore, assured that the communities will sustain all CAF activities initiated.

In their separate remarks, the DPOs Maiha, Girei, and the representatives of People Living with Disabilities expressed gratitude for their support in participating in the project.

The DPO Maiha represented by ASP Sabastine stated that crime has reduced drastically in the area due to the intervention by the Managing Conflict in Nigeria project which resulted in making the Police Cell in Maiha remain empty without any suspect under detention.
