Lawmaker constructs drift in Gombi

Member representing Gombi constituency at the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Mr. Japhet Kefas, has supported the reconstruction of a drift at Kanjara river in Gombi.

The Member representing Gombi constituency at the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Mr. Japhet Kefas, has supported the reconstruction of a drift at Kanjara river in Gombi to ease the hardship being faced by electorate in transporting their goods and services from the hinterland.

Speaking at the site of the project, the Mr. Japhet Kefas, said his constituents suffer a lot in transporting their goods most especially during rainy season, hence his personal decision to come to their aid.

The lawmaker said that development cannot be left in the hands of government alone as individuals and communities are expected to contribute their quarter.

Also speaking, the Vice Chairman Gombi Local Government Council, Yahaya Umaru and stalwarts of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Alhaji Sadiq Kawu said that the drift was damaged by flooding about two months ago which caused serious setback and saluted the lawmaker for coming to their aid.

They appealed to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to complete work on the bridge for easy movement of people, and goods.

The Sole Administrator Lala State Development Area, Solomon Adamu Ganjing and Madam Feriyo Solomon among other stakeholders praised the legislator for funding the construction project adding that the road is very important as it has connected about five wards.

The drift which was connecting Ga’anda, Fotta, Gabun, Dingai and several other communities to the headquarters of Gombi, was constructed by former Governor Boni Haruna, but washed away by flood disaster.
