Stakeholders in Mayo Belwa appeal to Government to complete abandoned Mayo Belwa General Hospital project

        Stakeholders in Mayo-Belwa local government area have held a meeting in Mayo Belwa town to chart a way forward for the compliation of the abandoned General Hospital project in the area.

The project which was started since two thousand and eight is yet to be completed.

Speaking during the meeting, one of the conveners, a former Council Chairman Mayo Belwa local government, Mallam Muhammadu Bako expressed concern on the inablity of the previous to complete the project.

The former council boss observed that the state government and the contractor were entangled in some legal tussles which caused setback in completion of the work.

He said the Hospital when completed will ameliorate the suffering of people of Mayo Belwa and its environ in terms of Healthcare.

According to him, the present Cottage hospital which was built by Nship does not have facilities to accommodate patients hence the need to complete the project.

Mallam Bako noted that the aim of the meeting was to forward their complaints to the authorities concern to as a matter of urgency help in completing the project in order to ease their hardship.

Also speaking, some community leaders in the area, Alhaji Yuguda Garba and Mallam Umar Atiku lamented the hardship being experienced by people as a result of lack of General Hospital in the area.

Responding, a Special Assistant to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Sustainable Development Goals SDGs, Mallam Umaru Gidado pledged to extend the message of the community to government for necessary action.

He reiterated the commitment of Fintiri led administration in providing basic Health services to Adamawa People, adding Government has already commenced construction and rehabilitation of some cottage and general Hospitals across the state.

Speaking, the acting Chairman All Progressives Congress APC in Mayo Belwa, Alhaji Babangida Talase described the meeting as timely and expressed confidence that the project will be completed.

Personalities that attended the meeting were vice chairman Mayo Belwa local government council Mallam Abubakar Mallam Babba, member representing Mayo Belwa Constituency Ibrahim Musa Italiya among others.
