IMWON Mubi Branch innaugrates New Officials

Meanwhile, An Islamic scholar based in Mubi, Adamawa state Mallam Salim Yakubu has decried the attitude exhibited by some people of not helping orphans and vulnerable in the society.

Mallam Yakubu while speaking as a guest speaker at the inauguration of officials of Initiative for Muslim Women in Nigeria Mubi branch explained that UNICEF report said ten thousand orphans are being recorded daily with seventeen point five million Orphans and Vulnerable Children are in Nigeria.

He said people should be mindful in handling properties of orphans and the consequences of not assisting them.

In his remark, the chairman of the occasion, Abubakar Bala Dauda from Muslim Council Mubi branch charged the officials of the organization to conduct their affairs for the sake of Allah.

He reminded them on the need to exercise patience saying whoever does things in anticipating of praises from people will not earn any reward from Allah.

Inaugurating the officials, the state Amirah of the organization, Hajiya Asma’u Aliyu who gave overview on the formation of the organization called for attitudinal change to lessen the hardship widows passes through in running helter-skelter to fend their families.

In an interview, Hajiya Zainab Yusuf Legal Adviser of the organization said the aim of the organization is to help orphans, feed them and give helping hands to their mothers for them to be better persons in the society.

The legal Adviser called on Government, wealthy individuals, NGOs, Muslim societies to support the organization to achieve its set objectives.

Also speaking, Hajiya Ramatu Tanko Mohammed pledged the judicious utilization of money entrusted in their care and called on people to assist orphans and vulnerable in the society.

During the event, wrappers and five thousand naira cash were given to some widows for them to start small scale businesses.

Those inaugurated are, Amina Abubakar-Amirah, Hauwa’u A A Duhu-Secretary, Ramatu Tanko Mohammed –Treasurer, Abidah Abubakar-Financial Secretary, and Aishatu D Yaro-PRO.

Others are Zainab Abubakar, Zainab Ma’aruf, Fadimatu Santuraki, and Fadimatu Yunusa
