Adamawa State Planning Commission, UNFPA Brainstorm On Activities Of International Organisation

Adamawa State Planning Commission in collaboration with the United Nations Fund for Population Activities, UNFPA have held a Quarterly Coordination meeting on activities of the international organisation.

The meeting was to present results, full financial report, Review and prioritize activities of the organization for next Quarter by the implementing partners held at Homtel Hotels and Derivatives, Yola.

In a remark, the Programme Analyst of the international body, Doctor Danladi Idrisa said the oraganisation is partnering Adamawa state Government to bring development in related to areas of its mandate.

He said the organization focuses on addressing problems of Maternal Health, Maternal Mortality and Gender Based Violence among others in related to areas as outlined by the state Government.

The Analyst noted that every Quarter, representatives of the organization and the implementing partners come together to discuss successes, challenges, and plan the way forward for the next Quarter to improve on its activities.

Doctor Idrisa explained that the organization is working with state ministries like that of Justice on forensic laboratory to address issues of rape to identify the perpetrators and bring them to Justice.

While thanking the Adamawa state Government for its support to the organization, the analyst charged the implementing partners to shun corrupt tendencies in their activities.

Speaking, the Executive Chairman, Adamawa state Planning Commission Mrs Mary Paninga who was represented by the permanent Secretary in the planning Commission, Alhaji Usman Hamman Mapeo acknowledged the commitment of the implementing partners in the second Quarter which resulted to positive impacts and charged them to sustain the tempo.

She called on them to work hard to correct lapses experienced in the past.

On her part, the Director, Donor Support Coordination in the state planning Commission, Mrs Gladys Nzarmah expressed hope that deliberations of the forum will be of positive impact on the next Quarter and encouraged participants to listen attentively and apply the knowledge acquired.

There were series of presentations by representatives of the state Ministries of Health, Women affairs, and the forensic laboratory in Modibbo Adama University Yola on activities covered within the outgone quarter.
