IMWON Host Orphans To Sallah Party

The Amirah of a faith based organization, the Initiative for Muslim Women of Nigeria IMWON, Adamawa state chapter Hajiya Asma’u Aliyu Abubakar has reminded Muslims on the rewards of assisting orphans.

She made the reminder at a Sallah party organized by the association for about one hundred orphans on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el Kabir celebration, which was held at the organization’s State secretariat, in Yola on Thursday.

The Amirah said the event was organized to give the orphans feel a sense of belonging in line with the instructions of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him that whoever assist an orphan will be rewarded in this World and the hereafter.

Hajiya Asma’u explained that the feeding of the orphans was made possible through contributions by members of the organization and some well-meaning individuals.

Speaking at the event, the Secretary of the organization, Hajiya Hadiza Dauda stated that as sallah is being celebrated in Muslim households, they organized the event so that orphans equally enjoy the festive mood.

She called on the Muslim Ummah to observed the instructions of Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him on the need to assist orphans in whatever form.

Hajiya Hadiza called on male Muslims the to devote part of their times to give parental care to the orphans give them useful advice as fathers.

Some of the orphans interviewed, expressed delight for being part of the sallah celebration and thanked the organization for committing time and resources to organize the event.

They admitted that their lives have not been complete since they lost their parents and vowed to help others in similar situation when they grow up.

Highpoints of the event were recitation of some verses from Holy Qur’an, running, Egg and sack races among others by the orphans.
