Governor Fintiri reiterates Commitment to reviving state own media houses

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri says his administration will revive media houses and ensure training and retraining of Journalists in the state for optimum service delivery.

He stated this in response to request raised during a dinner and launch of an annual calendar organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ in the state held at its Press Centre in Yola.

The Governor represented by the Chief of Staff Government House, Yola Professor Maxwell Gidado said the present administration is proud to associate with journalists in Adamawa.

Governor Umaru Fintiri while launching the calendar with two million naira on behalf of the state government, commended leadership of the NUJ for organizing the event which he described as unique.

He called on Journalists to continue to partnering government and ensure effective reportage for the overall development of the state.

In his welcome Address, the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalist NUJ, Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan said the Union decided to honour some personalities who have contributed to the growth and development of journalism profession in the state.

Comrade Ishaka Donald Dedan then commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his support to Journalists in Adamawa particularly in approving the certificate of occupancy of the Secretariat of the Union and urged him to maintain the tempo.

There were Goodwill messages by a Veteran Broadcaster Mr Timawus Mathias and General Manager of Fombina FM radio on behalf of all general managers of media houses in the state among others.

Highlights of the event was presentation of awards to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri,Mama Fibi Dana,Baba Tete, Late Comrade Abdullahi no sweat, Bishop Dami Mamza, Alhaji Gambo Jika and the launching of the twenty twenty-one calendar.
