GM Harps On Human Rights

The Acting General Manager of Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Yola, Alhaji Abdul-Nasir Ali has advised the State Coalition for Human Rights, Justice and Security under the Search for Common Ground to respect human rights while carrying out its activities.
Abdul-Nasir gave the advice Monday when he received delegation of the coalition on an advocacy visit at the broadcasting house.
He explained that security is the responsibility of everyone, hence, th need for the coalition to ensure due process are followed while executing the project.
Alhaji Ali commended Search for Common Ground for initiating Coalition for Human Rights, Justice and Security with the aim to promote unity among communities in the state.
The Acting General Manager congratulated the organization for the success recorded in various projects and pledged ABC Yola support.
Earlier in his remark, Project Officer, United in Security, Mr Pam Fulus said they were at the ABC Yola to intimidate the management on it project on security and human relation with communities.
He explained that media organizations played vital roles in the society, hence the need of ABC to continue to support the organization on the need of peace and unity.
Mr Fulus noted that the organization also trained journalists on conflict sensitive journalism in Adamawa.
The Project Officer added that various security personnel in the three local government areas, Yola North, Fufore and Girei local government area were trained by the coalition.
Speaking, State Chairman Adamawa State Coalition for Human Rights, Justice and Security, Mr Kissinger Bukar said the coalition had formed a Community Security Architecture Dialogue where local groups are included from the grassroots.
He said it is working with the Ministry of Justice and security agencies to ensure justice for all.
Mr Bukar announced that the coalition intends to establish a human rights club across secondary schools in Adamawa to sensitize students on human rights violations.
