Governor Fintiri presents over N140 billion 2021 budget appropriation bill to Adamawa State House of Assembly

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Monday presented the 2021 budget appropriation bill of over one hundred and forty billion naira which is lower than the current twenty- twenty  to the budget at Adamawa State House of Assembly for consideration.

The Budget tagged budget of Stabilization is proposed seventy two point eight billion naira for capital expenditure representing 52% while recurrent expenditure has N67.2 billion representing forty eight percent.

Governor Umaru Fintiri while presenting the appropriation bill on the floor of the Assembly Complex in Yola, revealed that the budget is projected in terms of revenue sources that include Statutory Allocation, of forty point nine billion naira and Value Added Tax, VAT of eighteen point eight billion naira.

According to the Governor, others include Stamp Duty two billion naira, Excess Crude: one point five billion naira, Internally Generated Revenue: twelve point one billion naira and Exchange Rate Difference of two point six billion naira.

Governor Umar Fintiri said the rest include, Stabilization Fund Receipts: two point five billion naira, Non Oil Revenue sources of one point five billion naira, Support Fund three billion naira and Capital Receipts fifty five billion naira.

The Governor said the proposed appropriation is formulated in line with the twenty-twenty one twenty-twenty three medium term expenditure framework and fiscal strategy paper as a matter of economic planning and policy.

He revealed that in line with government’s continued determination to pursue with great vigor the emancipation of the state economy, the twenty-twenty one proposed budget has been carefully packaged to consolidate on the gains recorded in the twenty-twenty budget.

Responding, the Speaker, Adamawa state House of Assembly Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas appealed to the Governor to prioritize the welfare of primary school teachers from the allocation in the education sector in the twenty-twenty one budget.

The Speaker said members of the Assembly would reciprocate government gesture by passing the twenty-twenty one budget before the year twenty-twenty runs out and called on ministries, departments and agencies to prepare for budget defence commencing from next week.
