Archbishop Filibus Salutes Bishop Kukah On His Birthday

The Archbishop of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, LCCN, Most Reverend Musa Panti Filibus has described the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Hassan Kukah as an inspiring witness and prophetic preacher.

Most Reverend Filibus, who doubles as the President of the Lutheran World Federation,  congratulated the outspoken, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, who turned seventy on the thirty-first of  August twenty twenty-two.

The Archbishop’s message was made public through the LCCN Communications office in a statement released on behalf of the entire leadership and members of the LCCN.

He noted that the Catholic Bishop’s story is that of someone who is unwavering in his passion for peace rooted in justice, equity, and dignity for all humanity.

He asserted that Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah has firmly stood with those suffering from unjust systems and struggling for liberation, pointing out that the cleric represents a great sign of hope that has inspired and challenged many people to continue in the struggles for freedom.

He appreciated the Priest for remaining defiant in changing the narrative of the nation for the sake of the present and future generations.

Archbishop Musa said Kukah’s unwavering position about human rights, justice, and fairness are proof of commitment to the common good of Nigerians.

Archbishop Panti thanked Bishop Hassan Kukah for using various avenues at his disposal to dispel injustice and preach peace and unity.

The statement further stated that the Priest is never afraid or discouraged to bare his mind on what is right and just as he always admonishes or rebukes any ill with an open mind and simplicity without mincing words.

The Archbishop said, the engagements of the Catholic Bishop with civil societies, and governmental institutions as well as the ecumenical and interreligious bodies further demonstrate his faith in Christ and love for God.
