Girl child education:fifty one stakeholders trained as school Monitoring Team

In an effort to increase girl child education in Adamawa, fifty one stakeholders were trained as school Monitoring Team to strengthen the advocacy and policy influencing skills of coalition members for effective engagement with policymakers and bearer.

The Adamawa state chapter lead of a non-governmental organisation, Connected Development, Aliyu Hammantukur Gengle said the beneficiaries of the training had been provided with budget tracking tools, education budgets UBE work plans, procurement data, school projects Bills of Quantities and post bids evaluation data to be accessed from Adamawa state Universal Basic Education Board and several other key data and tools.

In a presentation, the Community Engagement Officer of Connected Development , Muktar Modibbo dwell extensively on co-governance and the principles of engagement in which he said they did not train the beneficiaries to antagonize government but to supporting each other to achieve the desired goal of increasing girl child education in Adamawa state.

Muktar Modibbo said for Nigeria to achieve the desired achievement in education, fifteen percent of the budget needs to be injected to education sector.

Participants of the training expressed their commitment to use knowledge acquired to achieve the goal of Increasing Girl-Child Education in Adamawa.

Those in attendance are members of school Based Management Committees SBMC Parents Teachers Association PTA community leaders, school principals and Students.
