Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of commemorating the nations Independence Day.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou on Thursday.

Governor Fintiri stressed that after two decades of democratic process, the Political class must advance democracy, peace and prosperity through mutual interests based on shared democratic values.

He observed that it is possible to achieve a truly free society rooted in common values in order for democracy to thrive.

Governor Fintiri advised Nigerians not to allow those challenges threatening the nation’s co-existence, to hinder development of the country.

The Governor noted that the twenty- twenty anniversary theme Nigeria at sixty together” presents an opportunity for joint efforts to confront the twin crisis of COVID-nineteen and poverty through deepening capacity cooperation to overcome challenges.

He urged the citizens to borrow a leaf from the nation’s founding fathers and be patriotic at all times.

Governor Umaru Fintiri reassures the people of Adamawa that he will difference within the period of his mandate.
