Former Lawmaker identifies causes of Nigeria underdevelopment

A Former Member in the House of Representatives, Alhaji Abubakar Mahmud Wambai has attributed the underdevelopment of the country to lack of effective implementation of designed policies for the betterment of citizens.

Alhaji Wambai while speaking with Journalists recently in Yola noted that Nigerians are always good at planning, but deficient in implementation.

He explained that the country needs an honest leader who is committed to bringing development regardless of his geographical political, ethnic or religious background.

Alhaji Wambai who represented Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha Federal Constituency in the National Assembly stated that despite the several challenges the country went through since independence, it has recorded some achievements.

The former Lawmaker who holds the title of Madawaki Mubi in Mubi Emirate Council decried the attitudes of some leaders who embezzled public funds and stashed them in foreign banks.

He called on the nation’s political leaders to create the enabling environment for Peace Unity and Development of the country.
