Executive Secretary Adamawa mass education Board charges members of literary service support to be active

The Executive Secretary Adamawa state Mass Education Board, Mrs Charity Dubi has charged the new executive members of Non- Governmental Organization Literary Service Support to discharge their duty diligently.
She gave the charge at the inauguration of State council and local government coordinators of the organization held at Murtala Nyako centre state secretariat complex Yola Saturday.
The secretary said the cardinal objective of the Fintiri led administration is to improve the education sector in the state, adding that the board will support them in fighting illiteracy among the people.
Mrs Dubi explained that Adamawa state Mass Education has introduced many programs to promote literacy among adult and youth who have missed the opportunity to be in schools.
She advised the executive members of the organization to unite and work together to achieve their desired good.
In his remark, the National President of the Organization Comrade Noah Emmanuel, who was represented by Vice president north east zone Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu lauded the efforts of the Adamawa state of the Exco organization for working tirelessly towards promoting literacy.
He appealed to the members of the organization to intensify efforts in sensitizing people from grassroots on the importance of literacy in the society.
Speaking, the state chairman of association for literacy service support comrade Christopher A Jalo Commended governor Ahmadu Umaru for declaring a state of Emergency on Education saying this will go a long way in reviving Adult Education and Literacy Centres.
The chairman added that the organization in collaboration with UNESCO has trained fifty thousand women and youth in six states including Adamawa.
Comrade Jalo therefore called on Adamawa state government to support the organization in eradicating illiteracy, in order to reduce kidnapping, banditry, arm robbery and other social vices in society.
Among those inaugurated are Comrade Christopher A Jalo as a chairman, Madam Comfort John publicity Secretary, and Malam Abubakar Sadiq Daware to serve state welfare and Alhaji Usman Ahmed Dadah as director of literacy.
