Adamawa state government says it is committed to reconnecting Michika and Madagali

Adamawa state government says it is committed to ensuring Michika and Madagali local government areas are reconnected following the collapse of Wuro Ngayandi and Kuzum Dilichim Bridges as a result of heavy downpour recently.

State Commissioner for special Duties, Mr Alloysius Babadoke disclosed this when he visited the area to supervise the parlliative work embarked upon by the federal ministry of works to provide an alternative way for motorists, pending the proper reconstruction of the bridge.

He said the state government is concern about the plight of the Communities living in the area hence the quick intervention to reconnect the areas.

The commissioner who symphatized with the people of Wuro Ngayandi over the collapse of the Bridge assured them that government will do everything possible to ensure the bridges are reconstructed.

Mr Babadoke emphansized that upon getting the report the collapse of the bridge, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri immediately  intimated the Federal Ministry of Works for urgent intervention.

While aknowledging the efforts of Federal ministry of works in constructing the palliative on the bridge, the Commissioner called on the contractor handling the project to hasten work so as to ease hardship being face by the Communities.

In a separate interview, the chairman Madagali local government council Mr Aiden Sukon and member representing Madagali constituency in the Adamawa state House of Assembly, Mr Haruna Jilanki expressed appreciation to government for the quick intervention and appealed to residents of the area to cooperate for success of the work.

It could be recalled that the Wuro-Ngayandi Bridge collapsed on second August this year, following a heavy downpour which lasted for hours.
