Adamawa Assembly Okeys N550million for the procurement of fertilizer

The Adamawa State House of Assembly has considered and approved for the executive arm the sum of five hundred and fifty million naira for the procurement of five thousand metric tons of N-P-K fertilizer for the twenty twenty cropping season.

The approval followed the consideration and adoption of a letter sent to the House of Assembly by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, and read during at the special plenary session Friday by the Speaker, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas.

The House decision action was sequel to a motion to that effect by the Majority leader of the House and member representing Jada-Mbulo Constituency, Alhaji Hammantukur Yetisuri which was seconded by the minority leader, Muhammed Mutawali of Girei Constituency respectively.

According to the letter, the State Executive Council at its eighth meeting held on the twenty fourth June twenty twenty, considered and ratified the approval granted by the Governor to the Ministry of Agriculture for the procurement of the commodity.

The Governor also informed the House that the sum of four hundred and fifty million only out of the amount will be used for procurement of five thousand metric tons of N-P-K twenty, ten- ten which will be paid through Irrevocable Standing Payment Order which the remaining one hundred million naira will be used for logistics by state the Ministry of Agriculture.

In their separate contributions before considering the request Abdullahi Umar Yapak of Verre, Adwawa Dongolok of Guyuk and Kate Raymond Mamuno of Demsa threw their weight behind the letter and said it should be approved to enable the state government to procure the commodity.

Thereafter, the Speaker, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas, who presided over the sitting, directed the clerk to communicate the resolution of the House to Governor Fintiri for further action.
