Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation to Partner With NGO On Gender Issues

The General Manager, Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation, ABC Yola, Chief Alleni Ethan Dah has charged the members of Centre for Women and Adolescent Empowerment Yola to redouble their effort towards sensitizing members of the public on the negative impact of gender violence against women and girls.

He gave the charge Wednesday when he received a delegation from the centre in his office at th Broadcasting House Yola who were on an advocacy visit.

The general manager noted that the role of Non- Governmental Organization in nation building cannot be emphasized, and urged the centre to main the tempo.

Chief Ethan Dah assured that ABC Yola will continue to support the centre through airing the its activities.

Earlier in her remark, the founder of the Centre, Hajiya Asma’u Ahmed Joda represented by Hassan Umar Shallpella said they were in ABC Yola to seek continued collaboration with the centre.

She announced that the centre will undertake a new project tagged “Dandalin Mata” aimed at creating a platform for women and girls to discuss their problems and proffer solutions.

Hajiya Asma’u Joda explained that the project which is funded by Nigerian Women Trust Fund with support of Ford Foundation will cover six local governments in Adamawa which include Yola South, Fufore, Demsa, Song, Guyuk and Mayo- Belwa.

She then commended ABC Yola for its support to the centre and solicits for continuity.
